Welcome to our section about King Charles III

King Charles III was born on 14th November 1948, and is the firstborn child of our late queen, Elizabeth II. He was made Prince of Wales in 1958. His mother is the nation's longest serving monarch, and Charles is the longest-serving Prince of Wales. Charles became King Charles III on his mother's death on 8 September 2022.

His coronation was on Saturday 6th May. Children were able to join in the celebrations with our many royal activities.
