Queen Elizabeth II 1926 to 2022
Queen Elizabeth II was born on 21st April 1926. She became queen on 6th February 1952, and her coronation was held on 2nd June 1953.
On Wednesday 9th September 2015, her reign overtook that of Queen Victoria (who reigned for 63 years and 217 days). She is our nation's longest-serving monarch.
Queen Elizabeth II sadly passed away on 8 September 2022. She is succeeded by her firstborn son, King Charles III.
Her funeral was held on Monday 19th September 2022.
