This Jewish Festival is celebrated on 24th March 2024 and on 14th March 2025.

Purim commemorates the escape of the Jews, enslaved in the Persian empire during the 4th and 5th centuries. The Jews were saved through the influence of the queen, Esther, a Jewish princess, and her kinsman, Mordecai.The festival is celebrated in the synagogue with the reading of the Megillah, or scroll of Esther. The focus is on the triumph of good over evil, and of God as deliverer.
