St. Nicholas
Welcome to our St. Nicholas section on iChild!
This Christian Feast Day is celebrated on 6th December.
St Nicholas is the origin of our Father Christmas tradition. Nicholas was a real peson, who dedicated his life to serving God and to helping those in need. Bishop Nicholas was persecuted by the Romans and then imprisoned for some years. He died on 6th December AD 343.
The story of the saint who gave to the poor, especially to those in need, has over the centuries become the legend of our Santa Claus.
