GoldNon-Fiction - Monsters Year 1
This resource has been produced in collaboration with the National Association for the Teaching of English (NATE). It will give children opportunities to understand what non-fiction is, look at various sets of instructions, including how to make "Monster Biscuits", tying in with their fiction bookRory and the Monstersitter by Rosie Reeve.
This resource should be adapted according to the needs of your class, and can cover several lessons. It comprises a PDF file, which indexes the accompanying PowerPoint; a Word document worksheet; and a PowerPoint presentation, the main body of the resource (please click on the orange button to download and use slide show mode to present to the class).

If your browser is Google Chrome, there appears to be a temporary bug which causes the resource to be printed portrait, cutting off some of the content. In this case, a solution is to right click on the activity, save it and print from your saved area.
If your browser is Firefox, there appears to be a temporary bug which causes the resources to be reduced to fit the top half of a portrait page. In that case, a solution is to either to save the resource, as above, or manually set your printer to landscape.
