Gold4: The Stuarts
This Stuarts teaching resource is part of a series of Black British History lessons written by Professor David Olusoga and his sister Dr Yinka Olusoga. Two cash crops are examined, where the drive to make them as profitable as possible, lead to Britain’s involvement in the Atlantic trade of enslaved Africans. We also look at how the treatment of enslaved people in British colonies created a system of thinking about ‘race’, with enslaved black people and white free Europeans.
The PDF file provides teacher notes. It contains keywords, an index for the accompanying PowerPoint presentation, and a selection of worksheets.
